Garnet
Garnet comes from the Latin word "granatus" which means "seedlike".
Because Garnet crystals in a rock reminded early scientists of the shape and
color of pomegranate seeds. Garnet comes in a variety of colors and it is
perfectly fine to wear and of the colors to symbolize a birthdate. Garnet
was considered the gem of faith, constancy, and truth. Garnets were also
used as bullets because it was believed they would inflict a more deadly
wound. Garnet was also used as a protection for travelers. The Persians
consider Garnet a royal stone. Garnet is also the most reasonably priced
red gemstone available.
